Chilled cast iron is a cast, metallic blasting abrasive that is obtained from a molten chilled cast iron alloy and mechanically processed in various grain sizes (hardness 60 - 65 HRc). Chilled cast iron abrasive is intended for use in compressed air blasting systems. It breaks at an angle during the blasting process and continuously releases new, sharp edges, thus guaranteeing good cleaning behaviour. Chilled cast iron is an abrasive for particularly hard surfaces.
